Are you confusing Wi-Fi with wireless?

We’ll explain the difference to you! The term wireless literally means “without wires” and is used to describe any type of network, which does not require connection cables. Therefore, infrared technologies and Bluetooth are also wireless. Wi-Fi, on the other hand, is a particular type of high-speed transmission that uses certain frequency bands. Therefore, a Wi-Fi connection can also be defined as wireless and this is why they are often used interchangeably.

Wi-Fi networks, by their very nature, are subject to various external factors that influence their performance. Radio disturbances, environmental conformation, type of use required, must be taken into account in the design phase. It is therefore particularly important, through the Site Survey activity, to be able to determine the optimal position for the radio antennas so that they guarantee the expected performance.
